Update from Saudi!

We have been having a few busy weeks here in the Kingdom, getting ready for the states and end of school!

We went to Bahrain for a weekend with Bebe and Papa!

Elise was so incredibly excited about pajama day at school. That is all she talked about for weeks. I was also excited we got to go to school to see everything they had been working on.

Claire and I being goofy while we wait for Elise to get home from school.

Elise's new thing is riding her bike. She wants to ride her bike everywhere! It is so nice too because I don't have to worry about her as much here since the car traffic is so low and there are kids everywhere!

Our compound had their first 10k run this week too. We had a lot of fun helping get it together. Our friend Josie was in charge of it. No, I did not run the 10k, but the girls and I walked with our strollers in the sweltering Saudi heat!

They also had a 1k kids run!

Claire and Ellie hanging out at the pool.

We all got together to celebrate the Kentucky Derby!

We found as much tex mex in Saudi as we could to have a cinco de mayo party!

Easter Bunny Pictures

In my spare time here in the Kingdom I've taken a photography class. There is a wife here that is a professional photographer and she has graciously been teaching us. It's been a lot of fun to learn about my camera and I feel totally cool using words like, "aperture and shutter speed."
I took some pictures of the girls with a bunny this weekend. The bunny didn't cooperate totally, but I got some cute ones of both girls anyway!

We accompanied our friend, Stephanie to her ob appointment. We are thrilled she is due in September and having the baby here in Saudi. Her doctor was really fun and took a selfie with us! I'm also now following him on Instagram! Crazy!

I also hosted a Dr. Seuss party this weekend. The kids had a lot of fun doing lots of crafts and learning about Dr. Seuss.

Since we live in a pork free country, we had to settle for green eggs and turkey.

Dance and Sports Day

I got to watch Savannah this week while
Heather had bus duty. The girls have a lot of fun playing together and telling each other 'no.'
I started teaching dance again and I have a huge turn out this semester! This kids did so well on their first day!

The school had a sports day this week, which is similar to a field day back home. Elise's group needed to wear green and this was the only green shirt we had!!

Sports day also fell on a half day. Heather and I treated the big girls to a lunch at The Steak House.

Claire could swing all day long!!

Santa Clause brought Elise a bike. Since we aren't allowed to mail bikes to Saudi, we went in to old Jubail and let her pick one out. She loves riding it around the compound.

We spent the weekend taking care of Claire! She got some nasty virus! Hoping for healthy kiddos this week!

Getting a little busier!

We were actually somewhat busy this week, which is a very good thing! If there's nothing to do here it's very easy to become a hermit in your house!
When the King died last weekend they made a decision to cancel school on Sunday. So, Sunday the girls got to play. We of course had a tea party!

Claire doesn't realize it yet...but this was the last graham cracker she will eat until June!! 😓

Claire is so proud of her backpack!

Elise came home from school with a high fever. She rested all afternoon and was completely fine by morning. I was so thankful it was just a 24 hour bug!

We were invited to a coffee tasting at Starbucks! Yes...not a wine tasting, but a coffee tasting! It actually turned out to be a lot of fun!! We got some good laughs and learned a little bit more about coffee. I also had to take a tylenol PM to go to sleep this night.

Because all the restaurants are separated families and men only. We had to have the presentation right by a place kind of like Chuck E Cheese. That's why you see all of the balloons and such.

So happy it was warm enough for the girls to wear their school t shirt dresses. I had them made over Christmas and love how they turned out!

This morning Claire had two eggs and two pop tarts. I had to take a picture to remember how much food she ate!

We went to Bahrain just for the day to get out of the Kingdom.  Mr. Alex loves Claire!

So happy for a place that has wine and tv for the kids!
