Fun things to do with kids in Singapore

We were so lucky to be able to travel to Singapore last weekend. I've always wanted to go and we are actually quite close to it (a mere 7 hours from Dubai)! But...still closer than the USA!
We found some great prices flying out of Bahrain, so we went to Bahrain early in the day to catch our flight.
We had a few drinks and early dinner at Riks Kountry Kitchen to get our fill of bacon.  The girls love playing with the animals outside.

Only in a Middle East airport do you see things like this...trying to get a rental car to fit all of their falcons...

This is also something you will most likely only see in a Middle East airport....

Finally! Welcome to Singapore!! We were greeted with warm, sunny weather!

Mommy, take a picture for Gregory!

The yogurt was amazing!!

Our first official morning we woke up to a fabulous buffet breakfast at the Marriott Tang Hotel.

We went on a wonderful tour of Little India and Chinatown this morning. We used a great tour guide named Charlotte Chu. She was great with our group and even brought gifts for the girls.

Little India had some beautiful buildings and some interesting things, but it really reminded us of Saudi Arabia...

The girls loved having some flower necklaces made.

Notice our feet--you must take your shoes off before entering the Hindu Temple.

We definitely loved Chinatown more! There was so much good and cheap shopping to be had!

Josh was loving the pork jerky he picked up

In one of the places we had to cover our shoulders and knees..they even made us cover Claire's legs up with a scarf.

We ended the afternoon with a few hours at the hotel pool. The girls loved being able to swim again!

We met some work friends of Josh's and Papa's. They were so kind to meet us at a fabulous restaurant, Red House Seafood. We got to hear all about their Singapore experiences which was really fun to learn about. We are all very far from home!
The chili crab we ate was amazing!!

The next day we were off to see the world famous Singapore zoo!

The zoo was by far one of the best things we did the entire trip. We could have spent two days here and this is coming from someone who is not a zoo person.

I'm glad I didn't see the bats until we were done with the carousel!!

The shows at the zoo were really good.

Can you see how excited Elise was? I love it!

The pandas were the highlight of Elise and Claire's day!

My girls really do not enjoy getting their picture taken so many times!!

The girls loved that we got to cool off at the pool at the end of the day.

I was so excited that Kelly was able to get us an amazing babysitter for two nights while we were there. It was so great to be able to get out and have a drink. She found a great place to get a drink with a perfect view of Marina Bay Sands. After our drinks we went to the American Club and had a delicious dinner.

Unfortunately, Claire got a really bad tummy bug this night and we were up all night with her. We were lucky that when she woke up the bug was gone, but she was grumpy and tired the whole next day.

Elise was so proud of her very own train pass.

With grumpy Claire we set off to Marina Bay Sands! I had really been excited about seeing the hotel and the famous infinity pool.
The girls and I went on a small, but hilarious boat ride in the mall.

We had a great lunch at Ce La Vi. It offered awesome views of the Singapore skyline.

Elise loves to travel by train!

After Marina Bay Sands, we headed off to the Botanical Gardens which were so beautiful. We could have spent all day here.

Why can't she smile in our family pictures?!

We had another great dinner at Din Tai Fung- a great recommendation from Kelly. It was great with the kids!

Our last day Claire woke up 100% better so we headed out to Sentosa Island. We took the gondola ride out there. I was a little nervous about this ride!

We took the girls to the SEA aquarium. They loved it!

Elise has decided she doesn't need to stand by us on the escalators so she steps up a little ways.

I'm glad Josh snapped this picture! Claire is still afraid of escalators so she likes to be held going up! I love when she puts her head on my shoulder.

The girls were being silly our last night!

We found some Easter candy!!

Enjoying my last glass of wine for awhile!
